Originally an Accounting major, my passion for Calculus made me realize my career path was headed in a different direction. I was introduced to Actuarial Science by one of my peers and immediately realized it is what I am meant to do. Driven by a love for data analysis and organization, and aiming to expand my skill set, I added MIS as a second major to complement the data-driven focus of Actuarial Science.

In this role, I created Excel spreadsheets with pivot tables and charts to track and analyze fraudulent activity. I also pulled camera footage, wrote Law Enforcement Timelines and Statements, and compiled Police Reports for financial crime cases. Each morning, I monitored ATM check deposit alerts, reviewing accounts and holding funds when necessary to prevent fraud. Lastly, I attended monthly meetings at the Winter Park Police Department to stay informed on current fraud trends.

I communicated effectively with current and potential members, ensuring they had a seamless banking experience. My responsibilities included handling deposits and withdrawals, processing checks, and accurately balancing cash drawers. I also helped fellow high school peers open new accounts, guiding them through the process. To promote the branch, I created marketing videos aimed at engaging other students and increasing awareness of our services. Through these efforts, I played a key role in expanding the branch’s reach and strengthening its connection with the student community.

I provided excellent customer service in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, ensuring a positive experience for both customers and team members. I communicated clearly and respectfully with coworkers and management, fostering a collaborative workplace. My responsibilities included handling currency and credit transactions quickly and accurately, as well as mastering the point-of-service (POS) system for efficient order processing.
As a trainer, I guided new hires through their onboarding, ensuring they adapted quickly to the fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent customer service. I was entrusted with key responsibilities such as counting drawers and overseeing end-of-day money reconciliation. I was also the youngest worker to ever be promoted to trainer at 16 years old.
Myself, along with the rest of cohort 6, were honored in a medaling ceremony which took place at the FSU President’s House, where President Rick McCullough and First Lady Jai Vartikar welcomed the 15 Seneff Scholars, plus our family members and friends.
James M. Seneff, a celebrated alumnus and the program’s namesake, earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration in 1968. Seneff is a 2006 inductee into the College of Business Alumni Hall of Fame and the founder and executive chairman of the Orlando-based CNL Financial Group.
The Seneff program comprises a community of top undergraduate business students who benefit from an especially rigorous curriculum. It stresses innovation, leadership, collaboration and lifelong relationships.
“We are very thankful for these new scholars. We believe this program is one of our most important legacies,” said Seneff.
I was fortunate to travel to New York City where I had an incredible opportunity for professional growth and exploration. I had the privilege of having dinner with Brooke Deering and Natalie Faith Timm, gaining valuable insights from their experiences at Florida State and now working in New York City.
I also had the chance to visit the Kearney office in Manhattan, learning about their operational processes, corporate culture, and opportunities within the company.
Along with these professional experiences, I was also able to explore some of NYC’s most iconic landmarks and museums. So thankful to Luke Hopkins for organizing this trip and for being such a caring and inspiring leader. This was truly the trip of a lifetime and I am so incredibly thankful for everyone who made it happen.
In this project, I created an interactive assignment tracker using Google Sheets and Apps Script. I implemented formulas to calculate the current date and display the remaining time until each assignment is due, broken down into days, hours, and minutes. Additionally, I utilized Apps Script to automate the process of sorting the table by due date, ensuring that the list is always organized and updated whenever a new assignment is added. This dynamic approach helped streamline the tracking of assignments and improved overall organization for the semester. Click here to view in Google Sheets.
While working in the Fraud Department at McCoy Federal Credit Union, I created a spreadsheet that tracks monthly fraud trends in the areas of ATM Fraud, Mobile Deposit Fraud, Identity Theft, etc. Additionally, I created a sheet that tracks month by month trends in each of these areas of fraud. By using pivot charts and tables, the user can select any months in the current year to view their varying levels of loss or recovery in their respective category.
