KateTCollectibles combines creativity and entrepreneurship, selling handcrafted products online and at events. Through this venture, I hone my skills in sales, marketing, and customer engagement while sharing my passion for unique, handmade items.
Utilizing my Canon T3i camera, that I had initially no idea how to use, I took every product photo for KateTCollectibles. For magnet boards, I used my dad's light (with some wax paper draped over the front to imitate the effects of a soft box light), as well as any white wall in my house I could find. Smaller items such as candles and letters, I purchased a white poster board and foam board for the background, and my table side lamp as lighting. Each photo was then edited in Adobe Lightroom as a way to keep each product photo consistent with each other.
I recently created an Instagram Reel for KateTCollectibles, showcasing my candle-making process. I filmed each step—from melting the wax to pouring it into the thrifted teacup—using a mix of close-ups and different angles to keep it visually appealing.
After capturing the footage, I used CapCut to edit, adding smooth transitions and an audio track to enhance engagement.
The Reel helped boost engagement, sparking interest in my candles and showing the artistry behind them. It was a great way to connect with buyers and share my craft!
I created an Instagram Reel sharing a time-lapse of my hand-painting process for my Balloon Dog print. The video captures the entire transformation—from the first brushstroke to the final details—all in a fast-paced, engaging format.
To keep it seamless, I filmed the full process and sped it up in CapCut, adding smooth transitions and an audio to match the energy.
This Reel was a fun way to showcase my creative process in a quick, visually satisfying way while connecting with potential buyers.
Being part of Gamma Phi Beta has been one of the most meaningful aspects of my college experience. It has given me lifelong friendships, leadership opportunities, and a chance to make a difference within the Panhellenic community. As Corresponding Secretary, I use my creativity to design and send gifts to other Panhellenic chapters, strengthening our connections and fostering a supportive environment among sororities.
Beyond my role, I continuously build relationships within my chapter and across campus, creating bonds that extend beyond college. My sorority involvement has not only helped me grow as a leader but has also enriched my time at FSU in ways I’ll always cherish!
